When I was 9 years old I
wanted to start participating in Junior handling, but I needed a smaller
dog than a Great Dane.
One day, my mother met a friend
that once bought a Great Dane from her. To her surprise he carryed in one
hand a baby and with the other hand he held a whippet's leash .
"What is this little dog
?" She asked.
"I used to see you with
the big ones".
He answered that the whippet
is the ideal family dog, and that they are charming, sporting and intelligent
dogs
"they even get along with
our Great Dane".
My mother got an idea. In
"Rosh Hashana"s Holiday (Jewish New Year) she told me she is going to bring
me a surprise.
"Is it a printer?" I asked.
"surprise is secret" she
smiled.
When she returned home she
said:
"the printer is too heavy,
can you bring it from the car?". I ran to the car and saw through the windows
an adorable little whippet puppy.
She was my first whippet.
I gave her the name: Speedy
She was in Kibbutz Ein-Hacoresh,
Israel
to the breeder Elad Morag. |
